We’ve all been there. You find an incredible educational series, a coding bootcamp, or a massive music collection on YouTube. You see it has 87 videos and you think, "Can I finish this over the weekend?" YouTube tells you the number of videos, but it stubbornly refuses to give you the total duration.
As a developer (and someone who gets obsessed with productivity), this missing feature drove me crazy. So, I decided to stop complaining and start building. That’s how the
Why I Created It
I’m a big fan of "learning in public" and managing my time effectively. When I’m planning my week, I need to know if a tutorial series is a 5-hour commitment or a 20-hour marathon. I wanted a tool that was fast, clean, and didn't require me to log in or deal with intrusive ads. Honestly, I just needed something that works as hard as I do.

The tool is designed to be dead simple. You paste the link into
Total Duration: Exactly how many hours, minutes, and seconds are in the playlist.
Playback Speed Adjustment: This is my favorite part. If you’re a 1.5x or 2.0x speed watcher like me, the calculator tells you exactly how much time you’ll save.
Average Video Length: Great for gauging if these are "bite-sized" clips or deep dives.
Behind the Scenes
Building this was a fun challenge in working with the YouTube Data API and ensuring the UI felt snappy. I wanted something that stayed out of your way and just gave you the data you needed. It’s been a passion project of mine, and seeing people actually use it to plan their study sessions or workout playlists has been incredibly rewarding.
